support group counselling sessions and one on one

Whether you're seeking support for caregiving, addiction, depression, anxiety, or another mental health issue, overcoming your unease and attending a support group can be a valuable step toward healing.

A support group is a gathering of people facing common issues to share what's troubling them. Through the sharing of experiences, they're able to offer support, encouragement, and comfort to the other group members, and receive the same in return.

When you're going through a challenging or traumatic time, family members and friends may sympathize, but they don't always know what to say or the best ways to help. A support group offers a safe place where you can get information that's practical, constructive, and helpful. You'll have the benefit of encouragement, and you'll learn more about coping with your problems through shared experiences. Hearing from others facing similar challenges can also make you feel less alone in your troubles.

Street Outreach program and services

The Street Outreach Program enables organizations around the country to help young people out of homelessness and into safe shelter. To that end, the program promotes efforts by its grants to build relationships between street outreach workers and runaway, homeless, and street youth.

People experiencing homelessness - Effective street outreach reaches people who might not otherwise seek assistance or come to the attention of the homelessness services system and ensures that peoples basic needs are met while supporting them along pathways towards housing stability.

The Street Outreach Program supports work with homeless, runaway and street youth to help them find stable housing and services. JESUS MAAK NXA NPC focuses on developing relationships between outreach workers and young people that allow them to rebuild connections with caring adults. The ultimate goal is to prevent the sexual exploitation and abuse of youth on the street. Services include the following:

  • Provision of food and other necessities.
  • Emotional and spiritual support.
